Ambohimena Cacao from Madagascar’s Lower Sambirano Valley
We’re proud to share our newest chocolate, 74% dark with Ambohimena cacao—grown in the fertile heart of Madagascar’s Lower Sambirano Valley by the dedicated smallholder farmers of KOSAMA short for Kooperativa Sambirano Manongalaza, one of the most organized and well-structured cooperatives in the region. Since becoming fully operational in May 2023, Ko.Sa.Ma has made remarkable strides: building shared fermentation and drying stations, a warehouse, an office, and even a small souvenir shop—testament to what transparency, collaboration, and determination can achieve. The cooperative’s 70 members cultivate over 110 hectares of organic-certified (EOS) fine cacao, predominantly Trinitario, with full traceability from farm to bean. In partnership with @mabcoimporter, we’re excited to make this exceptional cacao into chocolate. @mabcoimporter @cacaolinkcompany
